Ceremony Microphone Policy
To ensure the highest possible audio quality during your ceremony, CALI Entertainment provides and utilizes a professional wireless microphone system specifically selected for wedding ceremonies.
After many years of providing ceremony audio, we have found that traditional lavalier (clip-on) microphones — even the highest-end and most expensive models — are more prone to inconsistent sound levels, clothing noise, wind noise, and feedback. For this reason, we exclusively provide a Countryman omnidirectional professional earset microphone paired with a pro-grade Sennheiser digital wireless transmitter system. This combination represents the highest standard in wireless ceremony audio and delivers significantly better clarity, dynamic range, and reliability.
This microphone sits discreetly near the officiant’s cheek and allows their voice to be captured clearly and consistently. Because it is positioned very close to the speaker’s voice and uses an omnidirectional microphone element, it provides excellent intelligibility while also naturally capturing the bride and groom during their vows. The result is clear, balanced audio for all guests without the risk of dropouts or feedback.
Some couples initially wonder if this type of microphone will look like a “drive-through headset.” In reality, the Countryman earset is extremely small, discreet, and professional in appearance. It is the same style of microphone commonly used in Broadway productions, Las Vegas shows, corporate keynote presentations, and professional speaking engagements. Once in place, it is barely noticeable to guests while delivering outstanding audio quality.
Because ceremony audio is extremely sensitive to microphone placement and equipment compatibility, CALI Entertainment requires that the officiant use the wireless microphone system provided by CALI Entertainment. Personal microphones, venue sound systems, or third-party audio equipment cannot be integrated into the ceremony audio system.
Please make your officiant aware of this policy in advance. CALI Entertainment will provide and support only the microphone system approved in this agreement, and alternate audio equipment cannot be accommodated on the day of the event.
